Class Dojo

Today I introduced a new behavior management system to the class called Class Dojo. Class Dojo is a new teacher tool that I will be using to help build the student's learning habits and boost classroom engagement. Class Dojo allows me to track student behavior and learning skills throughout the day!
Students are awarded feedback points for specific behaviors, learning habits and accomplishments in class. I am also able to log everything in realtime with just one click of the smartboard or my iPhone.

The students are responding really well to Class Dojo already! Tomorrow we will be working on establishing rewards and consequences based on the number of points they have acquired by the end of the week. I will also be sending home a parent letter with a special student code attached. Each student will actually be able to log onto student.classdojo.com, enter their special code, view their current points and change their avatar (which they are REALLY excited about!).

One of the great features of ClassDojo is that it allows me to send you a “behavior and skills report” every Friday by email.  My hope is that this will bring you and me closer together and help you better understand the progress of your student on a week to week basis. If you do not have an e-mail address, the “behavior and skills report” can also be printed out and sent home.
