Tricky, Tricky Math

Math problems sure ARE tricky!! Today we had our test for Unit 2 in Math and we were definitely struggling. I understand the students have been through quite a few changes recently so, I told them not to worry! We are going to work on conquering those tricky math problems together!

I am allowing every student to retake the Math test tomorrow online. I will be taking the higher of the two scores for their final grade. I told everyone to make sure they practice at home tonight (they should have their original paper).

Here are a few websites to help us improve our math skills:

1. enVision Math - This is the official website for our Math curriculum. Students can log in, view the textbook, complete practice assignments and review tutorials for lessons. Students can log in by using their first name as their username and jets123 as their password. For example, John Smith's information would be Username: John Password: jets123

2. SumDog- Get some practice with Math using SumDog! Compete against other kids at Rieck Avenue School or all around the world all while practicing important Math Skills!

3. Math Magician- Practice math facts in a timed manner. This is also a student favorite. Students should be practicing subtraction skills, but they are certainly able to reinforce addition skills, if needed. We will be using this site for multiplication and division later in the year!

4. IXL-Review Math skills directly related to what we are learning in class. Students can log on using their lunch number as their username and the password is math.

HAPPY PRACTICING!!
